Mauritius Global Business Licence (GBL) / Global Business Corporation
A Global Business Licence is the principal Mauritius framework for a resident corporation conducting business principally outside Mauritius or with prescribed categories of persons. It is commonly used as the corporate platform for internationally focused FSC-regulated financial services businesses.
What a GBC is
A managed & controlled Mauritius platform
A resident corporation, managed and controlled from Mauritius, used as the corporate base for international business, investment, and FSC-regulated financial services activity.
What it is not
Not a shelf company or a licence in itself
A GBC is a corporate wrapper, not a regulated-activity licence. Where the business performs a regulated financial service, a separate FSC activity licence is required alongside the GBC.
Substance checklist
When a GBC is used
- As the Mauritius holding / operating structure for international business and investment.
- As the corporate base for FSC-regulated activities such as Investment Dealer, Investment Adviser, PIS and certain fund / financial-services structures.
- Where Mauritius management, control and economic substance are part of the intended structure.
How Ylexium advises
Structure, licence and substance, together.
Ylexium advises on whether a GBC is the correct structure, how it should sit within the client's group, what regulated activity licence is required, and what governance, management, staffing and operational substance the model needs. Incorporation and statutory administration are coordinated with a licensed Mauritius Management Company.
Discuss a Mauritius Structure
Ylexium will assess whether a Global Business Licence fits the intended activity, ownership and substance.
